EFFECTIVE MARKETING IN THE LIGHT OF THE LATEST EU REGULATION ON PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION

In April 2016, the European Parliament adopted the General Data Protection Regulation. This Regulation will significantly affect the scope of obligations for entities processing personal data and will force numerous changes in the protection policy, and failure to comply with the new regulation may trigger financial penalties reaching as much as 4% of the annual global turnover of enterprises!

Due to these changes, we have organized, together with our partners from Oracle and Deloitte Legal, a CMO Roundtable meeting, devoted to the topic of effective marketing in the light of the latest EU Regulation. During the meeting, Agata Jankowska-Galińska and Katarzyna Sawicka from Deloitte Legal, brought the audience closer to the changes concerning the basic terms related to personal data processing and the new, stricter obligations for data administrators. Grow Poland’s CEO, Marcin Stawowczyk talked about the most effective solution in marketing automation, i.e. the Eloqua system, and Adam Małachowski presented how using such a MA tool as Eloqua increases the safety of gathering and processing data, as well as marketing communication, which is of particular importance given the high penalties for failure to comply with the regulations concerning personal data protection. The last speaker, Łukasz Romanowski, talked about the experiences of Oracle in the area of personal data protection.

The meeting was held on 23 June at the Adgar Plaza Conference Centre.
